Baby Sprinkle!

A simple yet effective way to celebrate a baby shower. These cakes are becoming increasingly popular and and the additional of the mini cupcakes added to the occasion.

What you need:

  • 8" semi sphere cake (for bump)

  • 2 muffin size cakes

  • 1 Kg pink icing

  • 12 mini cupcakes - decorated with buttercream and icing decorations

Firstly start by arranging the sponges to resemble the baby bump and bust. Next the sponges need to covered in butter icing in preparation so they can be iced.

Cover the top half of the cake in a flesh colored icing, followed by covering the bottom of the cake in the pink icing. When you trim round the icing leave a couple of inches on the base for the bottom of the dress.

Add a strip of pink icing on top of the flesh colour and mould to create the top shape and add ribbons of icing for the top rim and belt of the dress. Create the belly button using a ball tool and create a ruffled look on the bottom of the dress.

To finish arrange the cupcakes around the edge of the cake board and I finished off with a fake flower to add an extra element of brightness. Hope you enjoyed, thank you for reading and happy cake baking.
